The Budget Office Deputy Director position will direct and supervise the work of a team of budget analysts within the Legislative Budget Office (LBO), a newly established non-partisan joint legislative agency responsible to provide the House of Representatives and the Minnesota Senate with accurate and timely information on the fiscal effect of proposed legislation. Successful candidates must have a Bachelor's degree with six years of experience in a finance or budget analysis environment and two years providing direct supervision or lead work to staff. An advanced degree may substitute for two years of experience. They must also demonstrate the ability to: 1) develop expertise in multiple budget areas sufficient to manage a team responsible for the provision of fiscal oversight, financial analysis and presentation of fiscal notes to the legislature; 2) support and manage staff and stakeholder relationships in high pressure circumstances; and, 3) represent the independence of the office with legislators, legislative committees, state agency leadership and the public.
The Budget Office Deputy Director position is an unclassified, non-partisan, full time, benefits eligible position with a recruitment salary range of $88,836-$125,183. Starting salary will be commensurate with skills and experience.
