JOB TITLE: SENIOR FISCAL ANALYST

The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Senior Fiscal Analyst for the Budget Services office. The Senior Fiscal Analyst will serve as primary Judicial Council of California (JCC) staff supporting the Supreme Court, California Judicial Center Library, Habeas Corpus Resource Center, Courts of Appeal, Supreme Court, and the Commission on Judicial Performance on fiscal, administrative, and other budget development and management, expenditure forecasting, position and appropriation control, and conducts specialized research and analysis to assist the Administrative Presiding Justices (APJs) and Appellate Court Clerks/Administrators with planning and decision-making processes.

The successful candidate will report to the San Francisco or Sacramento office.
• Provide budgetary, technical, and analytical support in the areas of budget development and management, expenditure forecasting, position and appropriation control:
Collaborate with appellate court entities to develop, review, and update the financial forecast report;
Update Personal Services Report for each court entity with actual costs; research personnel transactions;
Analyze expenditure trends for input into the financial forecast and monitor fiscal status of individual court entities and courts of appeal program.
Analyze fiscal status, prepare and present appellate court allocations and projections briefing updates to the APJs and Appellate Court Clerks/Administrators;
Analyze current and projected expenditures by appellate court and program;
Conduct specialized research and analysis of fiscal budgeting issues:
Research accounting records to verify accuracy of recorded expenditures and encumbrances;
Apprise APJs, Appellate Court Clerks/Administrators, and Judicial Council Budget Services management of significant issues which may have a fiscal impact to the appellate courts. Confer with appellate courts and Budget Services management regarding potential courses of action;
Prepare monthly forecast for ACS:
Run and format Program Disbursement Activity Report;
Analyze current and projected expenditures for forecast projections, meet with ACS management to discuss forecast projections and planned expeditures and antic.
Bachelor's degree preferably in business, finance, accounting or a directly related field and five (5) years of professional exempt-level experience in financial analysis. Additional directly related experience and/or education may be substituted on a year-for-year basis. Possession of a Bachelor's degree in a directly related field such as accounting, finance, business, etc., may be substituted for one of the years of required experience.
Two years as a Fiscal Analyst, in the assigned field, with the Judicial Council of California or two years of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of a Fiscal Analyst in a California Superior Court or California state-level government entity.

$6,752 - $10,129 per month (Starting Salary: $6,752 per month)
