    The opportunity: Do you have bookkeeping, fiscal, or accounting experience? Are you interested in carrying out fiscal activities to support a program that serves young children and low-income families? Skagit Valley College (SVC) is accepting applications for a Fiscal Technician 3 working at Skagit/Islands Head Start in Mount Vernon.  Head Start promotes the school readiness of young children from low-income families by providing comprehensive services in early learning, health, and family well-being. Head Start teachers and staff look at the child holistically, individualizing for the needs of each child.

    The Fiscal Technician 3 provides fiscal support using independent judgment in the interpretation and application of a variety of rules and procedures in the area of Accounts Payable.  This position handles a high volume of paper documents, verifying and matching payment documents, preparing payments and inputting data into the accounting system.  A meticulous, confident, detail-oriented self-starter with prior experience in accounts payable is desired.  Strong customer service skills will be essential in effectively working with vendors and staff at all levels of the College in resolving accounts payable items and related issues.

    This is a 12-month, full-time, classified position working 40 hours per week at the main Head Start Center in Mount Vernon, WA.  This position reports to the Director.

    What we offer: A salary from $2,864 per month with periodic increments to $3,792 per month, depending on education, qualifications and experience.
