    The Judicial Council of California is accepting applications for the position of Associate Fiscal Analyst for the Branch Accounting and Procurement office in the Accounting Services unit. 

    This Associate Fiscal Analyst, under the general supervision of the Fiscal Supervisor serves as the Judicial Council's primary accounts receivable payment processor.  These duties require a knowledge of the Financial Information System for California (FI$Cal), accounting rules and regulations as well as familiarity with government accounting principles and procedures prescribed by the State Controller's office and other control agencies.  This position will provide assistance to program and court staff by ensuring that established audit, internal control, and cash deposit procedures are consistently followed.

    The successful candidate will be expected to work in the San Francisco office.



    • Perform payment processor of accounts receivable activities by assisting with the billing and collection of Federal, State, and Local reimbursement programs and recording of governmental fund revenues.
    • Receive all checks and other forms of remittances, log and copy, add all pertinent codes and information on the documents, and obtain endorsement of all checks.
    • When cash is received, physically deposit in the bank, scan checks and deposit slips, and log into bank (cash pro) and upload scanned documents.
    • Reconcile credit card payments with institutions processing transactions to ensure entry into FI$Cal System is coded properly.
    • Reconcile daily deposits and process dishonored check buybacks.
    • Produce accounts receivable reports from the FI$Cal system, review uncleared collections balance in the Centralized State Treasury System account, research and identify appropriate type of revenue, FI$Cal Chart of Accounts, and make adjusting entries as needed.
    • Work with programs and accounting staff on all revenue and accounts receivable requests, collections, and corrections.
    • Analyze and record State Controller's journal entries into FI$Cal accounting system to assure proper recording of revenue transactions.
    • Run various reports to provide revenue data recorded in FI$Cal system to stakeholders.
    • Initiate corrections requiring the use of accounting data, such as revenue, abatements, and reimbursements, and outside reports from program and contractors, to determine proper tie points and ensure all records reconciled.
    • Independently analyze and monitor accounts receivable transactions to support processes for month-end closing (MEC) functions in FI$Cal.
    • Research, analyze, and correct all outstanding issues and errors found to ensure month-end closing deadline is met.
    • Prepare and provide a daily summary report with recommendations to resolve all outstanding items and errors.




    Bachelor's degree, preferably in business, finance, accounting, or a directly related field that would provide the knowledge and skills necessary for the assigned area. Additional directly related experience may be substituted on a year-for-year basis.


    Two years as a Fiscal Services Coordinator working in the procurement or accounting function with the Judicial Council of California or two years of experience performing the duties of a class comparable in the level of responsibility to that of a Fiscal Services Coordinator in a California Superior Court or California state-level government entity.

    $5,875 - $8,224 per month
