Bio

Experienced local government professional with a background in local government budget and finance that includes the evaluation and management of organizational resources, the review and analysis of organizational operating and capital budgets; development, implementation and analysis of performance measures, objectives and strategic plans.

Over the course of my career I have been directly involved in the development and implementation of both organizational and departmental budgets ranging from $16 million to $242 million. I have also been instrumental in identifying opportunities for process improvements as it pertains to budget development, procurement and asset management for the organizations I have served. I have also proposed and implemented policy changes to increase fiscal accountability within the department. In addition to overseeing fiscal processes, I also have experience in strategic resource alignment in the way of the collaborative development of strategic and business plans that strive to create cultures rooted in data driven decision making.

I also have experience serving in a managerial and supervisory capacities that include evaluating work performance in the context of individual work plans and goals, coordinating training and identifying opportunities for continued professional development, and employing the appropriate use of discipline when necessary.

Other experiences and interest include working with rural towns and communities in central North Carolina with knowledge about community development and revitalization specific to smaller towns and communities. I also have worked extensively on community engagement and organization in various capacities.

I am passionate about government with an interest in seeing it function at all levels and have high aspirations for a long-term career as a public servant. Long term career goals and aspirations include to work in policy development arena and executive management (city/town/department/program management).
