    The Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO) whose mission is to enhance the fiscal and financial stability, accountability and integrity of the Government of the District of Columbia is in search of an Associate Chief Financial Officer. This position is located in the Office of the Chief Financial Officer (OCFO), Education Cluster (EC).  The incumbent will be responsible for directing and planning the effective management of financial resources for a cluster of District of Columbia agencies within the education appropriation title.  

     Duties will include, but are not limited to:

    • Developing, coordinating, and maintaining an integrated system of financial services including accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting
    • Coordinating and synthesizing financial and management data to interpret the composite financial results of operations to all levels of the Office of the Chief Financial Officer's (OCFO) management
    • Advising on, developing, coordinating, and carrying out financial policies, procedures, and plans
    • Reviewing, analyzing, and evaluating program accomplishments and reporting upon them in financial terms
    • Providing financial management advice and assistance on all matters relating to financial and resource  management for the cluster
    • Establishing organizational goals and objectives
    • Developing and implementing strategies that will minimize risks while supporting the OCFO's business and strategic plans
    • Performing other related duties as assigned

    Minimum Qualifications: At least ten (10) years of progressive experience performing financial management duties that include: planning, developing and monitoring operating and/or capital budgets; developing and reviewing budget proposals and preparing authoritative recommendations; coordinating and synthesizing financial management data for interpretation into composite financial results; advising and assisting on accounting and financial matters; administering federal and private grants; reviewing and developing financial policies, plans and procedures.  Experience in an educational environment is preferred.
