The Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has an exciting opportunity within our ExecutiveBudget and Business Operations section. We are looking for a journey-level fiscal professional. This position holds the responsibility of reviewing, preparing and providing financial reports for the Budget and Business Operations staff and managers to be able to make the best business decisions for the agency, the state and the public. This position is responsible for providing effective, efficient and accurate accounting and technical reporting expertise; accurate and timely financial and grant information; and responsive customer service.
DUTIES:
Responsibilities:The position monitors and reports on payables and receivables and provides timely projectionsregarding statewide program costs for two divisions. This position conducts research to determinetrends, inefficiencies and areas for improvement in cost accounting, expenditures and fiscalprocesses. This position provides information and training to other staff for travel or otherreimbursements, credit card use, and invoice payment/coding.

QUALIFICATIONS:
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration or related field OR a combination of education and/or experience to include 18 quarter or 12 semester hours in accounting, auditing, or budgeting.
- Two years of relevant professional experience in accounting or budgeting.
- Extensive knowledge of financial and accounting principles and practices, math skills and reasoning.
- Fiscal and clerical experience with exposure to accounts payable and/or payroll processing.
- Experience performing a variety of advanced and complex accounting and financial tasks.
- Experience using Word Processing, spreadsheet and advanced applications of financial management-related software programs.
- Experience in preparing financial reports and statements.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently or as a part of a team on assigned tasks.
- Proven analytical and mathematical skills.
- Strong time management skills, with a demonstrated ability to plan, prioritize and organize workloads. Attention to detail. Reliability to be on the job, and ability to work independently oras a productive team member when needed.

Desired Qualifications:
- A Master's degree in a financial-related field, certification as a Public Accountant, InternalAuditor, Certified Governmental Financial Manager or Management Accountant can be substituted for professional experience.
- Experience in government accounting, preferably dealing with a myriad number of revenue-generating accounts.
- Excellent keyboard and ten key skills.
